CLASS PROJECT
This project will be due at the end of the term and will be worth a total of 30 POINTS. The project is not mandatory, so you are not obligated to complete it in order to pass Egyptian Mythology.
As with all assignments, please submit it to [email protected], with your HOL name, HOL ID, and House somewhere in the body of the message. The subject line should read as follows: EM-Project-HOL ID. (Mine, for example, would be EM-Project-ar1107). IF I RECEIVE AN ASSIGNMENT CONTAINING AN ATTACHMENT IT WILL BE DELETED IMMEDIATELY. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Lavinia via the class email or HOL private message.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a deity in your own right? Well, wonder no more. Now is your chance to find out exactly how your life would be as a god (or goddess) of Ancient Egypt. That's right. It is time for you to take your place in the hierarchy of the Divine.
For this project, I want you to create your own deity, be it through poem, story, video, artwork, or a combination of any of those mediums. The more creative you are, the more points you are likely to receive. I'm not expecting Michelangelo or Shakespeare, but come on, you are a deity, so throw this mere mortal a crumb of bread and give me something good!
Tell me about yourself. Do you hold yourself remote from the affairs of men or are you heavily involved in them? Are you good or 'not so good'? Who are your allies in the Pantheon? Any enemies? What's your specialty? What are you famous for? Come on; I want to know!! Whatever it is, and however you choose to reveal your story to me, it MUST contain the following information:
The name of your deity
Your chosen city of worship
What you are the patron (or patroness) of
But wait! You are not done quite yet. Every deity wants to be immortalized, right? I mean, what's the point of being a deity if everyone is going to forget about you as soon as you are gone?! No fun in that! Preserve your name in hieroglyphics to make sure that doesn't happen to you. Go here, type out the name of your deity and take a screenshot of it. After uploading that to a photosharing site (like photobucket, for example), include that in your project when you send it to me.
Remember, HOL RULES APPLY, so keep that in mind when those creative juices start flowing! I wouldn't want to have to sic the mummies on a deity!
