5. Bastet is the author of the 'Book of the Dead'.
Short Essay (20 points) At least 150 words
Option A)
I mentioned briefly in the lesson the "Eye of Horus". Do a little research and come up with some more facts about this much beloved symbol.
Option B)
Admittedly I am a bit biased, but Hathor is one of my favorite goddesses. I listed several of her titles in the lesson, but there are many more, believe me! Do a bit of digging and come up with some more titles for 'my' goddess. Don't forget to tell me why she was given that particular title, please.

EXTRA CREDIT (30 POINTS MAXIMUM)
Please choose ONE (1) of the following options:
Option A-Research
Animal symbolism plays a big part in Egyptian mythology, as covered in our lesson. The four deities highlighted don't even begin to 'tip the iceberg', but Merlin knows the Headmaster would fire me if I even thought about attempting to list them all. That is where you come in, folks! Breathe--I'm not about to ask you to list them all!! What I want you to do is find another 'animal deity' and tell me a bit about them. What animal represents them? What qualities do they possess? What are they the patron of? Any juicy tidbits about them? Inquiring minds want to know! 300 word minimum.
Option B-Writing
Don the ceremonial robes, light the fires, and ring the bells--it's time for worship! And what, might you ask, are we worshipping? The answer is quite simple, my dear. We are worshipping--YOU. Well, in a manner of speaking. Imagine for a moment that you are an animal deity and your worshippers have gathered at your shrine to pay you homage. What animal would represent you and why. What would you be the patron of? But heavens, don't just tell me about it. Write me a story as if you were watching the gathering unfold before your very eyes. 300 word minimum.
Option C-Art
Illustrate anything that was discussed in the lesson, be it a person, a place, event, etc. This can be done via a computer program (such as Photoshop, Paintshop, etc) or hand-drawn. As long as it is your own work, I am not particular. Just remember, to make sure and upload them to a file sharing site (such as Photobucket, Flickr, etc). NO ATTACHMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
